How do I start running?


One of the biggest questions I get from new runners or people who want to run that haven’t yet is how do I start. The answer is a bit more tough love than I think people are expecting, but…


JUST START


At the beginning, it almost always feels hard. Breathing sucks. Your legs feel like led.


But then…


Then the magic happens and all of a sudden you can run a little longer and it doesn’t suck quite as much as it did before.


So just start.


One of my favorite beginner run workouts is below. Let me know what you think if you try it!


Warm-up walk for 5 minutes

Run for 2 minutes

Walk for 1 minute

Repeat 4 times

Cool down walk for 5 minutes
